Agreed... surprised myself gabbing on and on, I don't do that often. But I felt the discourse was enlightening, and gained insight into the rightward dimension.

So where do I get my tickets for Arcturus?

Any new book recs? I enjoyed WOT immensely, and Tad Williams series... read the first book of Malazan but couldn't get into it... I need a new read for my Thanksgiving plane trip to Tucson.

The Malazan series is by Erikson isn't it? I'm not familiar with him but was going to check it out - maybe not? I've also heard good things about "Ender's Game" but haven't read anything yet - any reccos on that one?

I just finished "Black Elk Speaks" by John Neihardt and about to start "Empire of the Summer Moon" by S. C. Gwynne. Empire recounts the rise and fall of the Commanche nation.

I need to dose some more from the non-fiction side for a bit.

If you like WOT and want to try something even grittier, the "Game of Thrones" book series by George R. R. Martin is outstanding. I have only seen a few epis of the HBO series and it was as close to soft porn as anything I've seen on HBO. Exactly how I pictured it would be from the writing. The writing is just as complex as Jordan's WOT, the sub-plots are just as complex, it's just a head shot writing style. Not for the under 16 crowd IMO.

Does it come in soft gel form? How about Saturday COD? I don't wanna pay extra if it's not a soft cover...ahem.

Malazan (yes Erikson) was hard for me to follow - kind of plunges you in without much introduction... unique world but needlessly complex. Game of Thrones is what got me started on this, still awaiting the final book scheduled for 2015 I believe. I'll have to look into Ender's Game.
